Presented in 2002, the Scorpio has been a game-changing SUV for Mahindra. Come 2021, it will be totally transformed into an entirely different SUV with an altogether extraordinary design inside-out. The 2021 Scorpio will include an entirely different body with improved proportions, new character lines and a stronger structure for upgraded safety. It will be generally square shaped, however. Spy shots suggest that the cutting-edge model will be more extensive.
A new 6-speed force converter programmed will also be added to the Scorpio range, same as the new Thar. The new model is also expected to be slightly bigger in size, which should improve the interior space. Aside from that, it will also offer a ton of premium gear on offer. The new model is relied upon to offer double zone atmosphere control, a bigger touchscreen infotainment system, and a cowhide wrapped steering wheel (with coordinated controls for sound and cruise control). The instrument cluster will also be new, and will get a refreshed TFT MID. Other than that, the cabin will be totally redesigned and will include premium upholstery.
The 2021 Mahindra Scorpio will also be a restyled exterior. The new model will be a lot sleeker-and sharper-looking than the current one. Upon launch, it will contend with the Tata Gravitas, MG Hector Plus, and its own sibling, the XUV500.
At the front, the 2021 Mahindra Scorpio will probably include huge headlamps on the flanks of an enormous radiator grille with vertical slots, split lower air admission and a stout guard, all in a fresh design. The windshield should be all the more steeply raked.
On the sides, the cutting-edge Mahindra Scorpio should have bigger rectangular mirrors, a steeper rise in the belt line, rectangular rear windows and narrower quarter glass panels. At the rear, it will have a side-opening back end in the conventional style yet not as upstanding. The more forward-inclining back end will add to the modernized character of the minimized SUV.
Reports suggest that the cutting-edge Mahindra Scorpio will sit on a refreshed version of the old model’s stepping stool outline chassis. Engine options may incorporate a 140 HP 2.2-liter mHawk diesel unit and a 163 HP 1.5-liter mStallion T-GDi petrol unit. Key features of the 2021 Mahindra Scorpio may incorporate projector headlamps, LED taillights, enormous touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, cruise control, reverse stopping camera and standard double front airbags.
Mahindra plans to launch the cutting-edge Scorpio in India in the second quarter of 2021 (April-June 2021).
