THE MARUTI SUZUKI SWIFT IS LAUNCHED IN JAPAN BUT WILL BE LAUNCHED IN INDIA IN Q4/2021

This is without precedent for the 12 years of the Swift that Maruti Suzuki has presented its smaller sedan sibling, the Dzire, first, which gave us a thought of what to anticipate from the new Swift. What was startling is the way Maruti Suzuki has given the Swift its unique sporty character that takes this hatchback off the safe way that Maruti might have chosen to follow.

The 2020 Maruti Swift facelift (2020 Suzuki Swift facelift) has been launched in Japan. The new small hatchback has a starting price of JPY 15,35,600 or INR 10.88 lakh (INR 10,88,397.14) in the organization’s home market.

The new Swift facelift features a refreshed exterior design. Suzuki has outfitted it with a newly designed front grille. Like in the old model, there are two distinctive front grille designs, and both are new. Similarly, there are two guard designs, however both are the same as those of the old model. As in the old model, there are two composite wheel options, with the sportier one highlighting a two-tone finish.

Suzuki offers the 2020 Swift facelift in two new double tone shading options: Flame Orange Pearl metallic with Black rooftop and Rush Yellow metallic with Silver rooftop. On the inside, there’s an updated 4.2-inch shading MID that, dissimilar to in the old vehicle, displays the speed as well. Also new is a 360-degree around-see screen for easier stopping.

The continued K12C 1.2-liter N/A four-chamber petrol engine (91 PS/118 Nm) is standard in the 2020 Suzuki Swift. Like in the old model, there are gentle hybrid and full-hybrid (strong-hybrid) options. In the mellow hybrid variation, there’s the WA05A electric engine (3.1 PS/50 Nm) to assist the engine, while in the full-hybrid variation, there’s the more skilled PB05A electric engine (13.6 PS/30 Nm) for the same purpose. Both have a Lithium-particle battery yet the last’s is slightly bigger.

The petrol and petrol-electric mellow hybrid configurations can be had with a 5-speed MT or a CVT. On choosing CVT, there’s a possibility for a 4WD system as well. The petrol-electric full-hybrid design comes with a 5-speed AMT just, and it can’t be had with a 4WD system.
